Ayurveda A-Z Part 1

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian wellness system dating back over 5000 years, offering a comprehensive methodology to achieve optimal well-being and vitality.

Central to Ayurveda is the concept of three bio-energies, or Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each person has a unique combination of these Doshas, which defines their dominant constitution. By understanding your primary Dosha, you can adopt lifestyle changes tailored specifically to you, enabling a balanced and harmonious life.

The goal of Ayurveda A-Z is to guide you through the key aspects of Ayurveda. This journey delves much deeper than just understanding your Dosha—though that is crucial.

Recognising your Dosha and unique lifestyle can profoundly impact various areas of your life, including your health, relationships, environments, and how you authentically present yourself in the world.

A - Abhyanga: The practice of self-massage with warm oils, promoting relaxation and nourishment of the skin.

F - Fasting: Periodic fasting is considered beneficial for detoxification and rejuvenation in Ayurveda.

G - Ghee: Clarified butter rich in nutrients, used in cooking and Ayurvedic therapies for its healing properties.

H - Hatha Yoga: A branch of yoga focusing on physical postures and breathing techniques to balance mind and body.

I - Indriyas: The senses, which need to be balanced and managed for optimal health and well-being.

J - Jala Neti: Nasal cleansing technique using a saline solution to clear the nasal passages and improve respiratory health.

K - Kapha: One of the three doshas representing earth and water elements, responsible for structure and lubrication in the body.
