What Is Kangen Water?
The term "Kangen" originates from Japanese, meaning "return to origin." Kangen Water® is alkaline water generated by Enagic's alkaline ionizer and water filtration machines. The Properties of Kangen Water
Hydrogen Enriched
Kangen Water® is enriched with Molecular Hydrogen (H2), known for its potent antioxidant properties. Molecular Hydrogen acts swiftly as an efficient antioxidant, permeating cell membranes to combat free radicals, thereby mitigating oxidative stress. Through the process of electrolysis, tap water is transformed into Hydrogen-rich Kangen Water®.
Antioxidant-Rich
Oxidation reactions in the body generate free radicals, while antioxidants quench these reactions. When the production of oxidants outpaces the supply of antioxidants, oxidative stress ensues. Thus, a consistent intake of external antioxidants is imperative to diminish oxidative stress and its associated damage. Hence, it is crucial to consider not only the quantity but also the quality of the water consumed for overall well-being.
Alkaline pH
Optimal health hinges on achieving balance, and this includes maintaining a slightly alkaline pH level of 7.365 in the body. The pH scale delineates whether a substance is acidic or alkaline, with 7.0 being neutral. Substances registering above 7 are deemed alkaline, while those below 7 are acidic.
Negative Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP)
Hydrogen-rich water exhibits a negative ORP, indicative of its antioxidizing potential. A high ORP value (in positive numbers) implies a substance with strong oxidizing properties, suitable for external uses such as cleaning and sanitizing. Conversely, a low ORP value (in negative numbers) signifies a substance with potent antioxidizing potential, preferable for oral consumption. Similar to pH, ORP values serve as a critical measure in assessing water quality.
